GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users
The storm has pretty well blown through the marina
now. Winds never became severe at the marina but were quite significant on
the lake. This was truley a tricky storm to predict and
follow.
There is no obvious damage at the marina other than
the previously listed boat with a broken dock line.
We probably had about 5 inches of snow at the
marina. Most of this has been blown around so we have bare patches and
larger drifts.
Some cockpits are full of snow even the the rest of
the boat is pretty well clear of snow. Boats with the most snow in the
cockpits appear to be the open transom boats.
None of these boats appear to be in any danger at
this time from sinking.
The parking lots and docks are ice sheets covered
with drifting snow. The roads around and to the marina are also very
slick.
And, this is the anniversiary of the
Valentines Day Storm that did so much damage to the marina in 1999. Happy
Anniversiary.
