To the marina community,

I want to apologies for an email that was sent out using the GSL Marina email list yesterday.  The email was regarding a rally for a press conference in the Capital Rotunda.  Although the senders (sharers) of the email may have had good intentions, this was not the proper forum for this email.  Normally these emails are forwarded to me as the moderator of the list to approve.  This did not happen for some reason and the email was sent out to everyone.

The Great Salt Lake Marina email list was created for the sole purpose of sharing pertinent marina information to the marina community as well as upcoming events or safety issues.  It was never intended for marketing, advertising or political purposes.  The list is owned solely by myself and I want to keep it pure to the original intent.

Again, regardless of whether the sender or sharer had good intentions, this list was not created for this purpose and I apologies that it passed through the normal moderator approval process..  If you have something that you would like to share with the marina community that falls in line with the intent of this list please email the request to me first.  Great emails to share with the whole community are event opportunities, whether it is Great Salt lake Row, Great Salt Lake Yacht Club, The Hawaiian Canoe Club, State Parks or any other group that wants to include the marina community in an upcoming opportunity or exciting event.  Other great emails would be historical, do-it-yourself help tips, or interesting muses.
