The following link has a story about Great Salt Lake folklore.  Although the story isn’t true, the legend has refused to die.  The article has a couple factual errors such as they weren’t Australian whales but rather pilot whales that were reported as being transplanted in the lake back in the 1800’s.  Anyway it is a cute article about one of the great Great Salt Lake legends.
