GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users
Well, Sailfest is over. But that does not mean summer activities are over.
Today we have a strong cold front pushing through which will keep the lake quite lively all day. Winds and waves are forecasted to stay quite heavy through the day. But they are ushering in cooler and much more pleasant temperatures.
This Friday the RC Sailboat races continue at 6pm from ‘L’ dock.
And Saturday is the 1st annual Harbor Master Cruise out to Eardley Spit. The weather looks fantastic with high temperatures in the mid 70’s and winds around 8 to 10mph. The Captains Meeting will be at 10:30am at the marina pavilion. Attendance is not mandatory but if you have never sailed out to the spit it is highly recommended you attend. The lunch on the spit will be pot luck. Please bring something to share. There will be beach games at noon to 3:30pm. We will have Rescue One and the runabout to shuttle those without alternative shallow craft vessels to the spit. If you do have a runabout or kayak it is recommended you bring it along.
The Harbor Master will be doing the last shuttle from the spit back to boats at 3:30pm. After that you are on your own if you are still on the spit. I know some sailors are returning to attend a certain birthday party that night. And others will choose to stay anchored near the spit for the night. Eardley Spit is a nice and well protected anchorage for those that want to stay the night.
