Just a reminder to our wonderful Great Salt Lake community about this Saturday's Bottom-of-the-Pit Chili Social. It starts at 11am and runs to 3pm. It is open house event so you can show up any time you like although 11:30am seems to be the key hour to have the most variety of chili and other food offerings. Hope to see you there. Dave

Boat Slip Lease

It is that time of year again to fill out a new Credit Card Autopay form for 2023 storage. ALL the forms expire at the end of this month. Please fill out the new form and return it to the marina either through email, by USPS, FedEx, or drop it off in person. WE HAVE QUITE A FEW PEOPLE THAT DID NOT FILL OUT A FORM THIS YEAR AND HAVE ACCUMULATED AN OUTSTANDING BALANCE FOR STORAGE. THE STATE IS CLEANING UP ON THESE PAST DUE ACCOUNTS. If you have a past due account please contact us. We will be sending out individual emails very soon on this matter. I hope to have news on dredging very soon. There is some money for dredging and the engineers are looking at feasibility and how much material can be removed. Survey for Great Salt Lake

USU is conducting a research survey about the future of Great Salt Lake. If you are interested in participating you can see the attached pamphlet which has a link to the survey. The survey includes what are our priorities/interests in getting water to the Great Salt Lake and what kind of solutions you prefer. It also has a list of bills passed by the legislature last year for you to share your opinion about. The survey states that it is confidential and completely anonymous. The survey states the research is being funded by grants from the Marriner Eccles Foundation, the Utah State University Extension Water Initiative, and the U. S. Geological Survey. Thanks Dave

Bottom-of-the-Pit Chili Cookoff

It is that time of year again. Time for the longest running social at the Great Salt Lake State Park. It is time for the Bottom-of-the-Pit Chili Cookoff! Saturday, December 17th from 11am to 3pm in the Cambria Room (The old Yacht Club Room). This is open to all the marina community, employees and volunteers. It is an open house format. Just show up. No need to RSVP. Bring your best Chili recipe (or other recipe). There will be a contest for Best Tasting, Most Original, and Spiciest. It was great to see such a huge turnout for the Turkey Fest. We had well over 100 people attending. It would be awesome to see another similar turnout. Even if you do not have a recipe don't worry. Come out and enjoy the food anyway. Visit with old friends.
