Loss of a Fellow Sailor

To the Great Salt Lake Community. We have lost a dear member of the Great Salt Lake community. Norm Nuttal passed away in September. Norm was a fellow Great Salt Lake sailor and one of the founding members of the Great Salt Lake Yacht Club when it was restored in the 70's. He sailed, raced and served a stint as the Commodore of the Great Salt Lake Yacht Club. Norm's Catalina 30 "Sally 2" was well known at the lake and has had some great adventures since. She now resides in Guatemala. Slip Lease Packages

GSL Slip Renters, It is almost time to renew slip contracts for the new year. In reviewing accounts we have noticed several people with fairly large past due balances. We will not be able to renew slip leases with past due balances this year. Please make arrangements ASAP to clear up these balances or make arrangements to remove your boat and/or trailer as soon as possible. Sailing Survival Film "All is Lost"

Fellow Sailors, I was recently made aware of a new film called “All is Lost.” It’s about survival at sea and stars Robert Redford. From the trailer at www.allislostfilm.com it looks to be a great film about sailing and survival. it’s scheduled to be shown at the Broadway Theater, 111 E.
