Water to the docks

GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users We have a strong pacific cold front heading our way next week. This front promises to bring moisture, snow, and more importantly, cold are. This cold air may bring temperatures below freezing. Because of that, there is a very good chance will will be shutting off water to the docks and the service dock (pump-a-head) on Monday or Tuesday. If we do this, we will not turn the water back on until March. Use the oportunity of this weekend to rinse of your boats, use the last of the water and pump out your boats. It is likely the last opportunity you will have this year. If the temperatures look like they will not dip below freezing, we will leave the water on until Tuesday of the following week. At that time it WILL be shut off for the year. IS THE LAKE COMING BACK UP ALREADY. It appears that it may. It appears we bottomed out at 4194.2 in early October and have actually come back up 2/10ths of a foot. This is an unusual trend. We usually bottom out in mid November. Last year we bottomed out mid November at 4193.9 If this years trend continues we could be at 4194.5 or 4194.6 at that time for a significant net gain for the year. Dear fellow sailors and friends, We'd love to see you this Saturday at our annual Halloween Party! Bring the kids and/or grandkids for some fun, Sloppy Joes and trick-or-treating on the docks. Kids games and activities start at 4pm and dinner will be at 6pm. Adults, we hope to see you on your boats in costumes, handing out treats to the little ones (and big ones) after dark. Thanks in advance for your participation!! Remember your checkbooks to pay for Annual Banquet. After this Saturday, cost goes up $5 per person and the deadline is November 5th. Our Annual Meeting and Banquet is coming up on November 7th at the Airport Hilton. Cocktails start at 5:30pm with dinner to follow at 6:30pm. We hope to begin the meeting, awards and presentations by 7pm so there will be plenty of time to dance or just listen to the great band we have booked from 9pm to midnight. If you'd like to spend the night, we still have our great room rate of $69. Just call the Airport Hilton at 801-539-1515 and mention the Great Salt Lake Yacht Club to reserve your room. Water to 'C' dock

There is a leak on 'C' dock. We have had to turn the water off to this dock. We hope to have it back on no later than 10-14 and maybe earlier. K Dock We are experiencing some electrical issues. We have unplugged all boats from their pedestals from K-27 through K-42. This is just a precautionary measure as we work through the issue and to help with a full diagnosis (boats plugged into the system can cause a faulty diagnosis). We may have to turn the power of to sections of 'K' dock for a short time. We are working on correcting this problem ASAP. We will keep you posted. Thank you, for your understanding.
