Anyone know when the remaining Garret P.I. books are scheduled to be re-published? The Publisher just re-released Old Tin Sorrows. They don't seem to be doing the re-publish run in any obvious order, so I'm wondering how long I have to hold my breath to buy re-prints of Red Iron Nights, Petty Pewter Gods and Quicksilver lies. I believe from an interview he did two years ago, I believe he had contracted for two books. However, I am not sure if the last book, Cruel Zinc Melodies, was one of those two. Two more Garrett books sounds about right. One trying to survive the engagement and the second to let all hell break loose before the wedding and Garrett retiring to respectability. -- Michael Llaneza maserati@speakeasy.net
Amazon has release dates for Petty Pewter Gods (August 4) and Faded Steel Heat (October 6). I have no idea why Red Iron Nights and Deadly Quicksilver lies are being skipped. Petty Pewter Gods at least seems legitimate, as Amazon shows the cover art in the new style used for the reprints of Old Tin Sorrows and Dread Brass Shadows. Meanwhile, Whispering Nickel Idols was reprinted, and now costs $7.99 instead of $6.99 (that's how you can tell the difference between the printings from the outside, inside the newer one naturally shows on the copyright page that it is a 2nd printing). Angry Lead Skies is still out of print, in book format, though the E-book file is available from the publisher and from Amazon. So that means Angry Lead Skies, Red Iron Nights, and Deadly Quicksilver Lies are the 3 out of 12 not available as new printed book copies. The 13th volume is in progress and under contract, as per interviews with Cook. The 2-book Garrett contract was for Cruel Zinc Melodies and this in-progress 13th book. As a further note to the above, Amazon now shows Angry Lead Skies as being scheduled for a reprint release on June 1, 2010. Who knows if that will really come to pass, almost a year from now, but a reprint is apparently on the publisher's radar. On Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 3:56 PM, Marc Rikmenspoel <marcrik@gmail.com> wrote:
