I've been enjoying the Murderbot series by Martha Wells, starting with "All Systems Red". The series name turned me away for a while, but it's not what it sounds like. However, it is sci-fi rather than fantasy. Definitely a recent favorite.

I highly enjoyed the Malazan Books of the Fallen by Steven Erikson.  He cites Glen Cook as a huge influence, and I can see it in several of the characters.

The series takes place in a world that he shares with fellow author Ian Cameron Esslemont.  They are archeologists and anthropologists who created the world and many of the characters during their role-playing game sessions.  They have both completed series in the setting, I believe totalling 16 books, and both have other series in the world in progress as well as several stand-alone books.

Wanted to reach out with a profound thank you for those who suggested sticking with Jim Butcher's Dresden series.  Read through Skin Game, and it's been well worth it.

Wondering what other suggested favorite authors or series you all enjoy rereading when you're not rereading Cook?

Warm regards,
