Gotta second some of the others' recommendations. Butcher, Weber, Abercrombie, Rothfuss, and Erickson are all favorites of mine, but I'd also add L. E. Modesitt and Lois M. Bujold to that list (especially Modesitt's recent Imager series and Bujold's Chalion books) -- --==From the mailbox of Alan Wheeler==-- I finally made my stupid computer faster; I dropped it out of the window, and it went really fast.
