Finished over the weekend. Enjoyable read. Toward the end (maybe a dozen chapters before the last) I had an idea how things would resolve. And I was satisfied - except for one small quibble. But don't want to spoil anything. Michele

Finished this last night. I had been close (well, maybe not THAT close) to dropping the Garrett series. I loved the earlier ones but some of the later ones were pretty flat. This one, however, was very good. Good enough to make me dust off my copy of Sweet Silver Blues ....

I hope there will be more Garrett P.I. books. The last interview I read he had signed a contract for two more books, which included this and the previous one.

I finished it this afternoon. I really liked the ending. Cook has stated that in the course of writing one Garrett book, he usually has the plot for the next one spring to mind. I imagine the ending to Wicked Bronze Ambition reflects that Cook already knows what will happen next.
I expect that only Cook's eventual death will bring an end to Garrett's adventures. Cook has a new cast of characters to play around with. The Hill denizens must surely have more schemes and plots, past and present, than just the Tournament of Swords.
I'd like to see a plot where Morley's elfin relatives come to Tun Faire and get caught up in some Hill magic! On Friday, July 12, 2013, Jerry Kalayjian <jkalayjian@yahoo.com> wrote:
Oh what a ride! Certainly one of the better Garretts, with the possible exception that the ending was a bit abrupt. I certainly wasn't expecting the emotional heartstrings to be pulled as much as they were.
I was expecting "something" from previous entries this past week or so, then was caught off guard anyway, by who. Then when I thought I'd figured things out at the end, only to be further surprised, and the "boom," close curtain.
I literally finished the book 30 minutes ago, so this could be one of those endings that grows on me with time, but I think I'm going to be disappointed if there isn't a Garrett #15.
