Re: [Fractint] FOTD 18-05-12 (Jewel of the West [9])
FOTD -- May 18, 2012 (Rating 9) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Due to time pressure, today's discussion will be brief. Today's very dark and somber image returns us once again to the parent fractal of May 6. This time we check a small disconnec- ted spot of interest in the far distant southwestern suburbs of the main body of the parent. Today's image shows what I found there. The rating of a 9 might be exaggerated, but I really enjoy dark and gloomy stuff like we see in today's image, so I decided on the exceptionally high rating of a 9. The name "Jewel of the West" indicates that the image lies west of the main body of the parent fractal. The surrounding darkness also makes the more brilliant inner part appear more jewel-like. The very brief calculation time of only 40 seconds will take some of the gloom out of the image. The web sites may remove almost all of the gloominess. The official FOTD web site is online at: <http://www.crosscanpuzzles.com/Archives.html> The high definition renderings of the images are at: <http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/TESTS/FOTD/jim_muths_fotd.html> All the back images are online at: <http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/> Today's weather here at Fractal central was absolutely perfect, with a totally clear sky and temperature of 75F 24C. The fractal cats were also perfect, doing everything that perfect cats should do. Actually, being indoor cats, they don't have the chance to get into trouble like the old fractal cats did back at Old Fractal Central. The humans had an equally satisfactory day. The next FOTD will be posted soon. The exact time depends on the meaning of the word soon. Until then, take care, and would the person who has actually seen an actual atom please stand up.
