FOTD -- November 26, 2006 (Rating 6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: The parent fractal of today's semi-glorious image resulted when I combined various negative portions of Z^(2.5) and Z^(0.08). This parent fractal resembles a distorted Mandelbrot set rotated 180 degrees, with a much broadened East Valley. Ignoring the broadened East Valley, today's image is located in a curiously out-of-place bit of fractal stuff on the southeast shore of the main bay of its parent. I named the image "Fuzzy Caterpillars". Indeed, the four vavy arms extending from the central midget do have a certain cater- pillar feel about them. I rated the image at a 6. It's quite a colorful fractal scene, but I could find nothing out of the ordinary in it that might raise the rating to a lofty 7 or 8. The render time of 11 minutes is slightly slow for such an image, but relief is at hand on the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> where the caterpillar image is posted for quick viewing. Another near-perfect day went un-noticed by the fractal cats on Saturday. They were more interested in exploring the more re- mote nooks and crannies of New Fractal Central. Finding little of interest in the crannies, their attention eventually turned to thoughts of their evening treat. My day was all that could be expected.
