To clarify the original message: the first four January FOTDs on Paul's site look normal, but when I move on to the fifth I get all that under construction crap. The text implies the image was to be posted "a few days" after January 5; the persistence of the construction crap when the shift-refresh is hit now on April 2 indicates that it was not. I spot-checked some of the later January ones; it seems most of them, maybe even all the others, are actually normal; I had thought that if January 5's was still not normal, none of the subsequent January ones were either. Evidently only one or a few are affected by this. As for why I use the site -- during January I did use the other site to view the images; now however I want to go over them all to see any philosophy I missed. Scott's site doesn't include it, and I'm not subscribed to the other list. I don't mean to offend anyone here -- unfortunately it seems people here have easily-ruffled feathers. I just don't like things that look suspiciously like broken promises (e.g. "please come back in a few days" on an "under construction" page that is three months old).Get more from the Web. You sir do not tell the truth (as usual), for this is from your original attack against my hosting of the FOTD: "Most of the January FOTD web pages render incorrectly." "They all show the 'image coming soon' nonsense from the start of March..." This shows you viewed more than one webpage (in fact you say "all") where you claim to have seen the "image coming soon" message. Now you say it was only one page you had viewed at the time. Which statements are we to believe are the real truth, for I personally can not keep up with your constant untruth's??
As for why I use the site -- during January I did use the other site to view the images; now however I want to go over them all to see any philosophy I missed.
Since most of Jim's FOTD postings contain the following lines in the Header information: To: fractint@mailman.xmission.com CC: philofractal@lists.fractalus.com I do not understand why you would bother going to visit my hosting of the FOTD. With the above information, it is obvious to an intelligent person that there is no special version of the FOTD to the PhiloFractal List. Now if you do not see both addresses within the Header, then you will know that a separate one was made. :-)
Scott's site doesn't include it, and I'm not subscribed to the other list.
Why not just subscribe to the other List, that way I should not have to put up this continued abuse, which is obvious to everyone that it is a personal thing with you. All you are trying to do is start controversy, since you really do nothing positive to contribute.
I don't mean to offend anyone here....
Yes, you do!! Sincerely, P.N.L. -------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.fractalus.com/cgi-bin/theway?ring=fractals&id=43&go

Sorry, but Jan 5, called "Fractal Burst," looks fine to me.

based on everything that EVERYONE has written, and my own experience with the site, Multiple Bogeys I think the problem is in your browser or your browser cache. Since everyone else can see all the pages just fine, but you are having problems, that sort of leaves the website out as the source of the problem. ===== http://cyberwizards.com/~hub/fractal http://community.webshots.com/user/darkwolf1_us http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Yes&Artist=CrystalWizard To subscribe to fractaltalk, send a message to listar@wru.org with"subscribe fractaltalk" in the body. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I'm going to stop just short of declaring this off topic, but I must say my impression is that any discussion of problems anyone experiences with web viewing of the FOTD images is probably wasted bandwidth for most list members. I respectfully request that questions of this sort be directed to the responsible parties via private email. Usually a moment's reflection about whether a post is of general interest should suffice for people to make the right decision. If anyone wants to argue or discuss this with me, I likewise request you email me personally and not on the list. :-) Tim Wegner All-Powerful List Administrator
