Is the fractal program you use able to read Fractint formula and/or parameter files?

What program do you use?
You are probably referring to the program I mentioned in the FOTD discussion for Nov 14. That image is from the late 1980's. Back then I experimented with several fractal programs before settling on Fractint. I think the "Very Early" image was created with a program named "Recursive Realm", which saved images in PCX format and has been out of print for many years. Today I use Fractint exclusively for my fractal exploration. Jim M.

I still have a few different versions of this old program written by Scott A. Jones (from 2.0 thru 3.0c). And it still runs fine on my older Win-98 machine.
I seem to remember that there are some fractal programs that have adapted Fractint file formats as a 'standard' way of describing fractal information.
There have been several programs written that are capable of using the same files (.PAR, .FRM, .MAP) that FractInt produces. Some can use all three file types, while others may only use one or two. (How else do you think UltraFractal was finally able to get a User base??) ChaosPro is fairly well known and can use FractInt files quite well. Plus, it is FREE for all to download and use. Terry Gintz has several programs capable of using FractInt files.
