Petta, Many thanks for posting the series of images showing your warp effect and color compression. While I was viewing your demo images one after another in the same window, I realized that they were computed at exactly the same point in the XY plane. So, as I was stepping thru viewing them, they were effectively sequentially overlaid on top of one another. This showed the change in appearance of your fractal due to your applied effects quite clearly. With your permission, I'd like to make an animated .GIF that automatically does the stepping thru your images and make it available on the list. However, I missed getting your image from Jan 6 that you mentioned. The version of your Jan 6 image "Round Trip" that I calculated: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/Albrecht/MFR_13/150106_Round_Trip/A1501061.G IF doesn't correctly overlay on your other five images. Can you send me a link to your Jan 6 image please so I can try and include it in the animated .GIF if it correctly fits into the sequence? Thanks! P. S. I like the concentric ovals of butterflies with their wingtips touching in the image I calculated... - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane@earthlink.net ######################## ------- Forwarded Post ------------------------------ Author: Niekamp Date: 2015-01-14 02:46 -500 To: Fractint and General Fractals Discussion Subject: [Fractint] Warp Effect Demo I cannot understand why nobody seems to be interested in the improvements I have added to my software and Fractint as well. Maybe because you think they are only allegations. Or more likely: people tend to notice details that are wrong - if they have vanished they only see a better result. ; Therefore I take the oportunity of a demonstration and some explanations. I use the image you have seen in my post Jan,06, SG color map and in 5 versions. 1. The "warped" version 2. The version without the "3d" like perspective distortion. Of course this is visible only if there are rounded objects or strings of self similar objects to supply a roomlike vision. 3. The version without color compression. This can be adjusted according maxiter and bailout. 4. The version where both are disabled which is the same as without warp effect. 5. The compression factor is identical to maxiter so you have the complete spectrum of the map (or multiples) in the image. The effect can be applied separately to each participating frm, so up to five times in a single image. ; In the folder you also find the par files and the input table to locate the settings (PDF, Doc or JPG). ; https://www.dropbox.com/sh/je2s3oa0sb3fdl0/AAAg9Z6rPv-cMbUXjE5TtIk0a?dl=0 ; A note about security: Since about 5 weeks there has not been a single malware attack on my XP computer. The reason is improved Xmission security (Thanks Tim!) and the perfect 3 way protection of Bitdefender (Traffic Light, Quick Scan, System Protection) which is free, easy to use and silent. Therefore the links remain from now on. Keep my fingers crossed. Petta ------------------------------ --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. http://www.avast.com

Here´s why you haven´t found it. There is some error which must be due to the "C" compiler that I detected ealier already, maybe you remember. Although the frm did not change in any way it will not generate precisely again. So there are 2 versions ( the first one was posted Dec,15.) I started the 2nd version couple of days later and stopped because it was not identical, finished today w/o error. This proves once again that all changes since then do not cause compatability issues (except warped images of course). https://www.dropbox.com/sh/kcih6xeuyylgila/AADBoNPPzOACz30g3xNVXjv2a?dl=0 The link contains the par.
