FOTD 23-04-09 (Natural Reality [5])
FOTD -- April 23, 2009 (Rating 5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: I named today's image "Natural Reality" because no one seems able to agree on exactly what 'reality' is, and at the same time it's nearly as hard to decide what a fractal is. The parent fractal was created by mixing 1 part of Z^(1.5) with 1/2 part of Z^(3) and adding C. This parent consists of two Mandeloids lying north and south of the origin, with a broad band connecting them. This broad band has a kind of East Valley on its east side, and today's image is located very near the X-axis, slightly inland of the valley. The image has nothing special about it. What you see is what you get, nothing more, nothing less. After careful study I rated the scene at an adequate 5. The calculation time of 5 minutes is bearable, but downloading the finished image from the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> will make it more bearable. Heavy clouds, blustery winds, occasional sprinkles and a temperature of 55F 23C made Wednesday unpleasant for the fractal cats of Fractal Central. For me, both the day and FOTD fractal were average.
