FOTD 22-01-12 (Blue Quartic Dreams [7.5])
FOTD -- January 22, 2012 (Rating 7.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: If an order-8 infestation can produce interesting and symmetrical images such as yesterday's in an oversized Mandelbrot set, what might a quartic infestation produce? Today we find out. The parent fractal is an oversized Mandelbrot set that has been rotated 180 degrees and is starting to take on quartic characteristics. Today's scene is actually located inside the large period-2 bud along the positive X-axis, where the stuff that will eventually transform the whole fractal into a quartic one is just starting to condense. I named the image "Blue Quartic Dreams". It kind of fits the image, and I could think of nothing better. The rating of a 7-1/2 is getting to be a habit, but if we're going to get stuck on a single rating, it is best for the rating to be at least a little above average. The calculation time of 1-1/4 minutes shows how fast the image is. Good things sometimes do happen fast. Avoid the hassle of running the parameter file by viewing the finished image on the FOTD web site at: <http://www.crosscanpuzzles.com/Archives.html> Then view its finer details in high-definition at: <http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/TESTS/FOTD/jim_muths_fotd.html> And remember the original FOTD web site at: <http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/> Heavy clouds and a fresh blanket of snow brought a feeling of winter to Fractal Central today. The fractal cats, who prefer summer, but especially spring and autumn, spent the day keeping warm by the heat; the humans passed the day trying to find something to watch on TV. FL can rather enjoy the relationship stories when nothing better is on, though once again I found that we have a hundred channels and nothing worth watching. The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and if time were to come to an end, what would happen next?
