Re: [Fractint] Re: FOTD Anomaly
Since most of Jim's FOTD postings contain the following lines in the Header information:
To: fractint@mailman.xmission.com CC: philofractal@lists.fractalus.com
I do not understand why you would bother going to visit my hosting of the FOTD. It is obvious to an intelligent person that there is no special version of the FOTD to the PhiloFractal List.
I had been given to understand that Jim Muth posts separate versions to the two lists, sometimes with added philosophical musings in the Philofractal one, and that your Web site uses the latter version and Scott's the former. If this is not the case, then there has been a misunderstanding. I see no reason to insult my intelligence here. Also, I don't recall seeing a Cc: header on any FOTDs. Perhaps Hotmail's crummy system doesn't show them to me, or perhaps this is something new.
Scott's site doesn't include it, and I'm not subscribed to the other list.
Why not just subscribe to the other List
I already am subscribed to one moderate-traffic list and one high-traffic list. I'd much rather not add another one just to read a particular subset of the postings, especially when that subset is available elsewhere. Also, since when does this list force a poster to edit the reply-to to send replies back to the list? (Yeah I know -- reply-to munging's been the subject of holy wars. I'm just curious why this list would change its policy in that area.)Get more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com

I believe that was true at one time, but is no longer the case. It would be easy enough to simply compare some pages at the two sites, would it not? -- |_ CJSonnack <Chris@Sonnack.com> _____________| How's my programming? | |_ http://www.Sonnack.com/ ___________________| Call: 1-800-DEV-NULL | |_____________________________________________|_______________________|
