FOTD -- November 13, 2012 (Rating 6.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image in a perturbed Mandelbrot set has a blue wedge intruding into the background. At first, this wedge appears to be totally out of place, with no connection at all to the surface pattern, but if the parameters are changed to 0,0, the connection will become perfectly clear. I named the image "Ghostly Intruder" because of this mysterious brilliant blue wedge, which is actually the ghost of a valley of an everyday Mandelbrot bud. The rating of 6-1/2 indicates that the image, which was done in haste, leaves much to be desired. The calculation time of 15 seconds will pass in a flash, but the web sites are still less of a hassle.
