FOTD -- April 17, 2008 (Rating 6.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Note: there will be no FOTD for one day only -- April 18. Today we have another image from the same parent fractal, and it's another image that rates a 6.5. 6-1/2 images seem to be all this parent fractal has in it. The scene is located on the eastern edge of the parent's fan, in the Seahorse Valley of a large but ill-defined minibrot there. But once again the final result falls short of the expectation. Then again, maybe my expectation was a bit too much. The image really is rather interesting. In an effort to make something of nothing, I evaporated the image and brought it back to life with the bof61 inside fill, but nothing times something always equals nothing, so the rating remained at a 6.5, but almost a 7. The name "Gone and Returned" refers to this evaporation and reconstitution. Let's face it, the calculation time of 11-1/2 minutes is slow, so my advice is to view the finished image on the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> An absolutely perfect day here at Fractal Central on Wednesday was fully appreciated by all concerned, the fractal cats included. With me, the work was moderate. But due to a big job expected tomorrow, there will be no FOTD for April 18. The next FOTD will appear on schedule on April 19.
