Folks, I took it upon myself to write an ebuild for xfractint(development version 20.02.4, no extra map files) for Gentoo Linux . After obtaining the latest updates by doing an "emerge rsync" you should be able to type "emerge xfractint" and watch it download, compile, and install xfractint for you, with your CPU optimizations.
