FOTD -- September 25, 2005 (Rating 5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image is a scene in the Z^(sqrt(2))+C fractal as it appears 4321 levels up the complex logarithmic hyper-spiral. The parent fractal resembles a Mandelbrot set sitting on its butt, or maybe Bozo the clown, waiting to be punched. A small cut-off area lies to the right of the main bud. Today's scene was found in this area. It's not that great an image, rating only a 5. In fact, the outside=iter version is so dull that I needed to add a bit of artificial interest by rendering the scene with the outside set to 'tdis'. But this particular parent fractal has far more impressive scenes in it -- of this I am certain. So be sure to see tomorrow's FOTD for something far better, which I have missed in today's FOTD. No merely average image should take longer than 3 minutes to render. With its render time of a brief 2-3/4 minutes, today's image meets that requirement handily.
