twin graphics card problem
Hi, I haven't posted much here, but I love the whole fractal thing since I found Fractint 19.1 on a CDROM. I have a problem, which I will detail below. I am running a desktop pc (duh) with a new Pentium 4 1.8ghz, with 2 graphics cards : the main is an NVidia Geforce 4 MX440 64mb, and the other is my aging Ati 3DCharger 2mb. What I would like to know is this : Can I run Fractint in DOS on my ATI Card's monitor at 800x600 fullscreen yet continue to run normal windows operations on my NVidia's monitor? If you need any more info, please ask, but I hope someone can help here. Richard. PS - How do you get the par files in a text format? --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.393 / Virus Database: 223 - Release Date: 30/09/02

What version/release of MS-Windows are you running?? What do you have the screen resolution set at now under MS-Windows?? One of the desktops at work uses two monitors. And often one monitor is running a DOS program that fills it's screen, while the other monitor has regular 32-bit GUI applications running. While in FractInt, use the <b> keyboard function to bring up the 'Save Current Parameters' screen. This will allow you to save an image as a text PAR file to the default location. This location may be specified in your SSTOOLS.INI file by adding the following (as an example): PARMFILE=C:\PROGRA~1\FractInt\PAR_s\*.par Other values may be adjusted on the 'Save Current Parameters' screen for PAR Name, File Name, Comments, etc... Then you can use a simple text editor to view them, and/or edit them. Sincerely, P.N.L. ------------------------------------------------- http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/PNL_Fractals.html
