Re: [Fractint] proper ifs posting
What I meant was, how to post the PAR (with all the positioning and color information) and the ifs parameters (as one does with the frm: clause to include a formula on the PAR file) But it's no big deal. I'll post and you people will figure it out :-) thanks & regards, Miguel

Would not the same format as the ones found in the FRACTINT.IFS file be good enough, as in the following example:
spiral { .787879 -.424242 .242424 .859848 1.758647 1.408065 .895652 -.121212 .257576 .151515 .053030 -6.721654 1.377236 .052174 .181818 -.136364 .090909 .181818 6.086107 1.568035 .052174 }

But it's no big deal. I'll post and you people will figure it out :-) Sounds reasonable enough:
Fern { ; The Silver Fern Morgan L. Owens reset=1950 type=ifs ifsfile=foonly.ifs ifs=fernly center-mag=1.154968265/4.95903015/0.3001976/1/-40 params=0 maxiter=256 inside=255 colors=000zzz<253>000 } fernly { 0 0 0 .16 0 0 .01 .85 .04 -.04 .85 0 1.6 .85 .2 -.26 .23 .22 0 1.6 .07 -.15 .28 .26 .24 0 .44 .07 } Seems reasonable enough to me (especially after I point out that the par still works even though there is no file named foonly.ifs on my machine, and "fernly" was in a file called foo.ifs.) Morgan L. Owens "I should call the next one 'barley'."
Actually you could do |||| VVVV ifs:fernly { 0 0 0 .16 0 0 .01 .85 .04 -.04 .85 0 1.6 .85 .2 -.26 .23 .22 0 1.6 .07 -.15 .28 .26 .24 0 .44 .07 } and Fractint will search for it in the par-file if it doesn't find it in an ifs-file (similar to "frm:"). The same applies to "lsys:" for l-systems. Regards, Gerald
