FOTD -- August 31, 2008 (Rating 7) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: The philofractal version of this discussion is longer. Today's image is a simple scene rather deep in Scepter Valley. I named it "A King's Scepter" and rated it at a 7. Just like Seahorse Valley to its east, Scepter Valley is filled with 'peanut holes' in its depths. This type of image can be hard to color attractively, but with today's image the 'tdis' outside option works reasonably well. The image calculates in 10-1/3 minutes on the P4-2000mhz machine, mostly due to the extreme maxiter of 15,000,000. But on the P200mhz unit it would take about 3 hours to complete. If time is a problem, solve the difficulty by going to the FOTD web site and viewing the finished image there.
