While Albrecht Niekamp is on vacation and away from a computer, he has asked me to put some of his images onto my server. In Albrecht's fractal parameter set he has a note: "asymmetrical inside." It does appear at first glance that the main features along the X-axis are symmetrical about the Y-axis, but closer inspection reveals that this is not so. The features along the X-axis are set in an electric, icy blue background appropriate for the current season in mid-to-high northern latitudes. I was tempted to cut Albrecht's fractal in half down the centerline and make an animated .GIF of the two superimposed halves repeatedly alternating in the image, so the differences between them would jump out at you, but, unfortunately, I don't have the time to do it right now. If someone reminds me next year, I'll try doing it then.
