[Fractint] Apparently erroneous horizontal streaks in black 'lake' areas in "zoom2"
JackOTradez's "zoom2" (as well as most of his other zooms) has apparently erroneous horizontal streaks in its black 'lake' areas when I calculate it with Fractint 20.02.4 on my Win98 SE vanilla Gateway. I've not had this problem on other images. This happens at any size image / any viewport of the image. I once saw this a long time ago in another fractal on another machine but was unsuccessful in determining what was going on at that time. Since I had not seen this particular artifact in at least six or eight years I assumed that its mechanism had been uncovered and dealt with. I have been 'given' a 2nd chance to see and ask for assistance with this particular artifact and I don't want to drop the ball this time... Does anyone else see these horizontal streaks in the 'lakes' when they create this image? <--<< ================ original message =============== Date: Mon, 20 Oct 2003 23:33:51 -0400 From: "JackOTradez" <JackOTradez@email.msn.com> Subject: [Fractint] Re: The Julia Rectangle ! Hal, Set the periodicity to 0. But this will slow down the computation time tremendously, so also reset the maxiter from 2110000000 down to 21100.
