Re: [Fractint] Mandel Miracle
The anti-aliased version of Albrecht's Mandel Miracle is done. Try putting Albrecht's original GIF: http://tinyurl.com/Albrechts-orig-Mandel-Miracle or: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/Albrecht/MFR_13/150111_Mandel_Miracle/20000W 12-orig-fm-Albrecht.GIF and my anti-aliased version of the image: http://tinyurl.com/Antialiased-ver-Mandel-Miracle or: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/Albrecht/MFR_13/150111_Mandel_Miracle/20000W 12.jpg into adjacent tabs in your browser and quickly switching back and forth between them to see the differences between them. Be sure you're viewing the images at full size for a valid comparison. I like to use the keyboard to do the switching so I don't have to aim my cursor at the different tabs. Many browsers use: <ctrl><n> -- where <n> is the browser's tab #, . . . . . . . . counted from leftmost tab, and <ctrl><n+1> -- the adjacent tab's number In my anti-aliased version of Albrecht's Mandel Miracle, it appears that the anti-aliasing has not hurt the smooth shading by Sylvie Gallet's color map -- but it has cleaned up some incorrectly over-bright single pixels, mostly near the small 'black holes' in the image. I remain in awe of Sylvie's smooth color map: http://tinyurl.com/Sylvie-Gallets-smooth-colormap or: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/Albrecht/MFR_13/150111_Mandel_Miracle/20000W 12map.jpg I like this [pseudo] full color image! - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane@earthlink.net <mailto:hallane%40earthlink.net> ########################

That color map of Sylvie Gallet's is amazingly smooth for being 256 discrete colors!: http://tinyurl.com/Sylvie-Gallets-smooth-colormap or: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/Albrecht/MFR_13/150111_Mandel_Mira cle/20000W12map.jpg
Here's your Mandel Miracle image from DropBox again with the above color map in it: http://tinyurl.com/Albrechts-orig-Mandel-Miracle or: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/Albrecht/MFR_13/150111_Mandel_Miracle/20000W 12-orig-fm-Albrecht.GIF The anti-aliased version is still calculating away... - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane@earthlink.net ######################## ------ Forwarded Post ------------ Author: Niekamp Date: 2015-01-15 06:30 -500 To: fractint Subject: Re: [Fractint] New & Exciting Am 15.01.2015 um 10:53 schrieb Hal Lane:
Watch the Mandel Miracle...
How about an antialllzed version?
Sure! It's calculating as I type this. But it will likely take a couple of days, as I always use Single Pass at 3k x 4k as part of my anti-aliasing process...
Thank you, Hal. I love this image as it shows the full power of the SG map - I call it miracle map - with the full spectrum, all colors flow in 3d manner and have the same size and all details have a defined 3d like shape that will be even more detailed after anti-aliasing. Be sure you're viewing the images at full size for a valid comparison. Hal, I must admit I had my doubts about anti.aliasing but they are not justified at all. Even the smallest objects have a clearly defined structure and the too brtght parts are now correct. Thanks for that! I wonder what the image would look like using the native resolution of my flatscreen, 1920/1080. I watch the images with Irfan viewer fullscreen and can switch with left or right mouse button. Petta
