Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone has written a Fractint-compatible formula of the Burning Ship fractal? There is a thread about it at http://www.fractalforums.com/general-discussion-b77/burning-ship-fractal/?wa... I wrote this from it: BShip {; Burning Ship, 20/7/2012 from fractalforums.com z = abs(z) z = z*z + pixel |z| <= 4 } but all it gives me is a blank screen. Any help, please? Tony Hanmer

I am the one that started that particular thread on the FractalForums web site. And if you read further along you will see a posted .PAR that should get you started: http://www.fractalforums.com/general-discussion-b77/burning-ship-fractal/10/... Sincerely, P.N.L. -------------------------------------- http://www.Nahee.com/PNL/Fractals.html http://www.Nahee.com/Fractals/
Many thanks, Paul. I'm now running your .par file in WinFract 20.99.8, float=yes seems to be required, and getting just a black screen... Any other pointers? Thanks, Tony Hanmer On 20 July 2012 10:09, Paul N. Lee <Paul.N.Lee@att.net> wrote:

Me, too. I tried it in XFractint (without setting "float=yes") and just get a black screen. On 07/19/2012 10:47 PM, Tony Hanmer wrote:

Not sure what to tell you guys. When I posted that, just a bit over three years ago, it ran fine on my old Windows-98 machine using FractInt version 20.4.09. The SSTOOLS.INI file I use as my default settings may be seen at: http://www.Nahee.com/Fractals/FractInt/sstools.ini If I get some time tomorrow afternoon, I will crank up that machine and give it another try to make sure something still displays after being generated. Tony, Try this: Burning_Ship { z = (0,0): z = abs(z) z = z * z - pixel |z| < 100 } Jonathan
