FOTD -- September 22, 2010 (Rating 7) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image is a scene that lies on the main spike of a mini- brot near one of the two main spikes of its Mandeloid parent. This parent fractal is a strange kind of Mandeloid -- a classic Mandelbrot set that has split apart on its negative X-axis, and has two main spikes, pointing diagonally upward and downward. The rating of a 7 might be a bit overdone. The colors could use more work, and lack the brilliancy I have been trying to achieve lately. The name "Low Lamplight" has no connection to anything fractal. It merely brings a vague feeling of relaxation. The calculation time of a speedy 36 seconds is faster than FOTD average, and should cause no trouble. The day began chilly, with a temperature of 43F 6C, but with a clear sky and strong sun, warmed to 77F 25C in the afternoon. My day was average.
