FOTD 26-06-10 (A Near-Oblate Set [No Rating])
FOTD -- (No Rating) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image lies near a small minibrot on the main stem of the Mandelbrot set, quite near the main body of the set itself. It is neither a Mandelbrot nor a Julia fractal. It is oriented at an angle 16 degrees from the Oblate plane of the Julibrot. The orientation explains the name "A Near-Oblate Set". Since I put almost no effort into the image, I gave it no rating. And the calculation time of 13 minutes is far too slow for the un- impressive result. Lots of sun, reasonable humidity and a temperature of 86F 30C kept the fractal cats of Fractal Central subdued on Friday.
