Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Due to water problems here at Fractal Central, which need to be remedied, (leaky roof and flooded basement), today's discussion will once again be short. Â The fractal is one I found with little effort using the just-renamed MandelbrotMix3a formula. Â I renamed it because there were two formulas named MandelbrotMix3, and this was causing confusion.
The image was rendered with the outside set to the <Â real > option. Â In today's image, this option, with often does little, creates an effect rather like a froth of bubbles surrounding the central midget.
I named the image "Something is Wrong" because something actually *is* wrong with the image. Â A careful inspection will reveal subtle inconsistencies in the symmetrical pattern surrounding the midget. Â I leave it to the viewer to find these inconsistencies.
When I downloaded the image it came out as agreen square! Err... it seems correctly named. Best wishes John -- John Lewis, jlewis@clara.net on 23/02/2003 -- Using M2, Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/m2/

Maybe that's why the title is: Something is wrong

You should try using the link to my web page instead. Though I do things the old fashioned way by hand, which sometimes takes longer, I can usually correct errors during the process. http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html Sincerely, P.N.L. ------------------------------------------------- http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/PNL_Fractals.html http://www.Nahee.com/Fractals/

OK - it's now corrected on my Website. It was some glitch on my computer. (It happens every now and again with Jim's FOTD.) I was out of town for about 24 hours, and was not here to check on the FOTD to see if my computer generated it properly or not.
