FOTD 21-06-14 (Fractal Yuletime [A-6,M-8])
FOTD -- June 21, 2014 (Rating A-6,M-8) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: It has been two days since the last FOTD was posted, but have no concern. This delay is not a sign of another looming FOTD drought. There is simply a lot of catching up yet to do here at FC. Today's image is part of a near-Julia set lying in the Julibrot that results when a Mandelbrot set is strongly corrupted even on its surface by Z^(2.5)+C energies. I have added to the interest by rendering the scene with the inside set to 'fmod', thereby creating the circular features. The name "Fractal Yuletime" refers to the pinkish triangular shape at the center, which rather resembles a Christmas tree. The art rating of a 6 shows that I consider the artistic worth merely average. The math rating of an 8 indicates that I consider the math aspect more interesting than the artistic aspect. The calculation time of 1-1/2 minutes will cause little impatience, and the little impatience it does cause may be eliminated by viewing the image on the web sites. Avoid calculation by checking the finished image at: <http://www.crosscanpuzzles.com/Archives.html> <http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/TESTS/FOTD/jim_muths_fotd.html> <http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/> <http://user.xmission.com/~legalize/fractals/fotd/about.html> Clouds and rain kept things suppressed here at Fractal Central two days ago, but yesterday and today brought nothing but sunny skies and a temperature of 79F 26C. The fractal cats, who are now almost impossible to tell apart, celebrated the fine conditions by getting into a heated tussle. The humans, who are becoming ever more wrapped up in world events, passed the day admiring the fractal garden. The next FOTD will be posted in a day or maybe two. Until then, take care, and it's about time to dig into the huge backlog of e-mail here at FC.
