FOTD -- May 12, 2010 (Rating 9) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image, which rates a very honorable 9, is the last in the series of minibrots in East Valley areas of large minibrots on fractalized main stems of apparent Mandelbrot sets. The image, good as it is, pretty much exhausts, (an over-statement), the immediate potential of such areas, and it is now time to move on. The exponent of today's image is 1.5 and the iterative added constant is negative 20,000. The change of values sems to have made little difference. The images in the East Valley of the large minibrot are still very good. Tomorrow's FOTD will feature something new, hopefully as good as the most recent 4 or 5 images. The name of today's image, "Last of the Series", simply tells it like it is. Tuesday here at Fractal Central began with a splendid sunrise, but by 8am a dull gray overcast had set in, and just after noon a steady cold rain began, while the temperature hovered around 46F +8C, making it hardly a perfect spring day.
