Can u run multiple copies of DOSbox (each w Fractint) simultaneously in Win10?
Can anyone tell me if multiple copies of DOSbox can be run under Win10 *simultaneously* -- each in its own copy of DOS Fractint -- (and each using a different CPU core!)? This could be a big "win," as many current computers have generous amounts of RAM and many CPU cores. Fractint also has a built-in capability for dividing an image into multiple parameter files in a highly automated way. I have another email about that coming soon. I'd also like to know if "DOSbox SVN Daum," that Tim recommends, can have multiple copies running simultaneously under Win10. - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane@earthlink.net ######################## -----Original Message----- From: Fractint [mailto:fractint-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Jason Hine Sent: Tuesday, August 15, 2017 12:46 AM To: fractint@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [Fractint] Windows SDL Port Hooray! Ecstatic to see this port, even in alpha... much, much faster than running v20 in DosBox. Yes, I managed to make it crash three times in three minutes by trying out more esoteric video modes and doodads, but mandel at 1024x768x256 seems solid. Kudos and thanks to Jonathan, and I'd be interested to hear about any opportunities to collaborate (via Git, etc.) on further development of this port. - Jason H _______________________________________________ Fractint mailing list Fractint@mailman.xmission.com https://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus
