FOTD -- January 17, 2006 (NO RATING) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: For the next few months the FOTD will appear as frequently as possible, but on an irregular basis. With the continuing graphic-design work and preparations for moving, things will be simply too hectic and unpredictable for a regular schedule. Today's image is a scene on the negative real axis of the Z^2.0001+C Mandeloid as it appears 5000 lofty levels up the infinite complex logarithmic spiral. At this height the Mandel figure is rotated around 37 degrees, so that a minor period-25 radical located on the southwest shore of the main bay inter- sects the negative X-axis. The image earns no rating and no name. I put far too little effort into it to consider rating it. The render time of 25 minutes is slow, but the completed GIF image is available for download on the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> The download will save much time. Light winds but freezing temperatures kept the fractal cats confined to their window shelf here at Old Fractal Central on Monday, M.L.K.Jr. Day. Despite the holiday, the work kept me confined to my desk. The next FOTD will appear when I find the time. I'll give a 67-percent chance that tomorrow will be the day. Until next time, whenever that is, take care, and carry onward.
