Am I correct that if I run a par with reset=1960, that ver2004.14 will load the sound related info and if I immediately save a new par that the sound related info will be reconfigured into the present par format?

None of the sound related parameters show up in the backwards compatibility checking code.  The two PARs should be the same.  There are some possible exceptions, of course, but the sound parameters should be identical. Jonathan
