While Albrecht Niekamp is on vacation and away from a computer, he has asked me to put some of his images onto my server. Albrecht says that there was a typing error in the original parameter file that he posted 2005, so no one has seen this image yet. I tested the parameter file at the link below and it appears to work correctly. Albrecht's fractal, "Wild Vision" is very striking to me, primarily because its features almost seem carefully arranged -- and has a nice combination of bold and intricate features. The features of the fractal make good use of the smooth shading of the four colors in the color map: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/Albrecht/21225MM_map.jpg producing smoothly-shaded areas. These smoothly- shaded areas have the further characteristic of being shaded from black to the fully-saturated color, and then back to black, creating a three dimensional effect that reminds me of many of Paul Carlson's fractals.
