Re: [Fractint] Some Lyapunov Variations
Here are some pars (attached) from a variation of the Lyapunov fractal type, which has long been a favourite of mine - I asked for the variation so as to have more control over its parameters, and sometimes you get exactly what you wish for. These have quite a strong space/SF theme, and look great rendered as large as possible. Is there any *full-colour* freeware fractal programme which can handle such "homemade" as formula files as opposed to Fractint's "hard-wired" ones, and Fractint-type .par files as well? I'd really like to see these without the banding that the 256-colour map gives. Tony Hanmer Mestia, Republic of Georgia Ps NB This attached text and the next one want to be cut and pasted into Notebook or your equivalent text editor, then saved as TLYA2010.PAR ; then it can all be run in Fractint. Also, save the two formulae, Lyapunov02 and 07 (everything after frm:) deleting the "frm:" in each case, into a separate .frm file, called LyaVars.frm or whatever.
Fracton is freeware and runs FractInt formula files. It is also generates images with 24 bit color but still uses a color table to map the coloring method to a color. The color table size is not limited to 256 values and can be of any size you like. To make a large color table, you will have to create the color table yourself. Fracton only runs on Mac OSX 10.5 or higher. If you want more info, you can look on the Fracton website at: http://www.fracton.org/ -- Mike Frazier www.fracton.org

Its on the roadmap for iterated dynamics, but there are other things that are scheduled ahead of it. -- "The Direct3D Graphics Pipeline" -- DirectX 9 draft available for download <http://legalizeadulthood.wordpress.com/the-direct3d-graphics-pipeline/> Legalize Adulthood! <http://legalizeadulthood.wordpress.com>
