Linux offers a lot of programs that do that very thing. Most image management programs can do it, too - I use KPhotoalbum to manage my 54000-some odd image collection. It can export with a number of HTML+Javascript layouts that can be uploaded to a site. Our family webhosting service includes a number of PHP-based photogallery apps; most hosting services include them. Albrecht might consider using a hosting service and domain (multifract.com?) instead of relying on services like Dropbox & its competitors. David W. It might be possible to write a php + javascript program that steps thru all the files in a folder and construct a list of clickable download links for each image on a web page. The great thing about this idea is that the file/program would be the same for every folder.
I've never written php and javascript that complex before, though.
I found some code that someone wrote to do this, but I don't understand it fully... And so far I've not been able to make it work on your site.
I'll play with it a little more. It's doing a lot of stuff that I'm not familiar with.

Sorry, BoxCom has deleted my XP uploads too. They are a just a big nuisance. So now looking for an alternative cloud service. Albrecht
