FOTD -- May 09, 2005 (Rating 7) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: In yesterday's FOTD discussion I mentioned that I had not yet glimpsed the midget that lies at the center of the frame. In today's FOTD image we remedy that shortcoming. In today's image I used the same color palette with only a few minor changes, so today's image closely resembles yesterday's, though the pattern this close to the midget itself is far more broken. Today's image might be considered better than yesterday's, but it is also a near-repeat. Considering both these things, I rated it at a 7, which is the same as the rating of yesterday's FOTD. Remembering those great old 1950's horror movies, I named the image "Son of Scene". Since today's scene is far deeper than yesterday's, the render time is over twice as long. But as always, relief is at hand in the form of the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> where the completed image will soon be posted. In tomorrow's FOTD, I might zoom in even farther and fill the frame with the midget. We'll see how it goes. The weather was near perfect here at Fractal Central on Mother's Day Sunday. Only a brisk wind kept it from being absolutely perfect. The high temperature of 75F 24C and cloudless skies lured the cats into the farthest reaches of the yard, but the constant blowing of the wind kept them from venturing into regions unknown. Today promises to be equally perfect, with far less wind. We will see what the duo makes of it. For me, the work is moderate and the fractals are unending.
