Interesting idea. Exactly what would happen? I rather suspect that the tachyon would soon reach infinite speed and disappear from our view, having gone back in time. A tachyon moving faster than light would likely create a shock wave, which would cause it to lose energy and therefore increase its velocity to infinite. At infinite speed, a tachyon would travel backward in time at the same rate we are traveling forward.
