I've been having this problem for as long as I've been looking. Today's FOD is not there now (FotD_06-03-20.html), although Jim's mail appeared almost 2 hours ago. Nor does it appear by refreshing, nor by referencing directly. Is it not just the upload directory not being the live one, and that being copied on a schedule?
Well, I guess it's now another year and time to again explain the process of how the FOTD webpages are created. (I should probably include this on the main FOTD page for those new or unable to remember.) 1. Jim creates an image and saves the parameters as a PAR file. 2. Jim writes an email for posting to two different discussion lists. Most times they are the same, but sometimes they are different emails. (I use the PhiloFractal version.) 3. The PAR (and FRM, if not a built-in formula) gets pasted at the end of each email before Jim posts to the discussion lists. 4. They are sent out and then go through the servers from Jim's ISP connection to the two Mail List servers, for dispersal to the various members. 5. If everything works correctly, I eventually receive the two emails in my mailbox at my AT&T Worldnet account. 6. But, since I never know exactly when (or even if) an FOTD has been sent, I do not sit at my computer waiting for it 24 hours a day. 7. Eventually, I check my email late at night before going to bed. If the FOTDs are there, then I create the daily webpage, update the monthly index webpage, once a month update the main webpage, and upload that to the website. 8. If not there before going to bed, then I attempt to do them before going to work in the morning (if I have the available time). 9. If not the next morning, then when I get home in the evening. The process does not take precedence over my normal existence. I have a my own life that requires me to do other things than wait to upload the FOTD webpage immeditately upon Jim sending the email out.
