Firefox has a few good things going for it, beyond the fact that it's not IE. ;-) David gnome@hawaii.rr.com Peter Moreland wrote:

My web browser already handles pop-ups without needing any help from the OS or a firewall - whether on Windows, OS/2, or Linux.

I am not suggesting that the XP firewall is the same beast as Kerio. I happen to like the way that the SP2 enhancements do stuff like stop a pop-up, tell you and then give you the option to view it without reloading the page.
AS I said I am running both in conjunction.

Hmmm, if you're running a real, proven firewall like Kerio ... why would you want to run the unproven XP firewall? SP2 didn't install an XP firewall - XP already had one, just a very poor one and disabled by default. SP2 did some upgrades to it, but I seriously doubt it upgraded it to the level of Kerio ...

just fine. I must say I think the SP2 enhancements are excellent.... breathed out a couple of weeks ago ;-)

Yes, SP2 will let you install and use other firewalls like ZoneAlarm. Just disable your present firewall, install SP2, then disable the SP2 firewall (which is on by default), and re-enable your preferred firewall.
I'm avoiding the entire thing around here .. my last Windows box disappears at the end of the year.

FYI Below :
BTW if you use a fire wall and Win XP install Your FireWall Software first Before you add in SP2. SP2 won't let you install FW's like Zonealarm or Black Ice. It's behaved pretty good with me "so far" but I'm still not ready to exhale just yet. Just in case you need this
info.
