Well... it isn't *my* method, it's the description in the README file I tried to run fractint on a "normal" login terminal, but that didn't work. The error that Fractint displays says that this video mode is not supported. Maybe it's just that my card isn't in the list of supported cards. But in X it runs OK. Even faster than xfractint: fractint xfractint 03:14.05 04:59.34 04:01:57 06:59.34 except for very fast fractals, then it is the other way round: fractint xfractint 02:07.53 01:46.85 00:01.93 00:00.82 Good luck!
