Strangely enough my work machine (P4 1.6/TNT2/XP pro) will run fractint. I can get 1280 * 1024 * 256c, so I don't think it's XP at fault. Will try the boot disk thing tonight, but I really think it's down to the Parhelia. Anyone else out there with a parhelia ...... db

I have only heard of a couple of individuals successfully running FractInt under MS-Windows XP, and achieving an image size greater than 300x400.
The quickest and easiest resolution is to create a DOS boot disk from a Win-95/98 system and use that to run FractInt. But you still may need to do some adjustments to get those higher resolutions, though nothing more than a 256-color image.
