FOTD -- December 21, 2014 (Rating A-6,M-6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: <snip> Today's image is a near-Julia set of a point along the negative X-axis of the Z^(1.5)+C Mandeloid. This area is also filled with fractal trees, but to see them the angles of the slice must be reset to 90,90. I gave both the art and the math a rating of 6 because the whole thing seems average. The name "Tongues of Fire" has nothing to do with the feast of Pentecost. It is simply a phrase that came to mind as I was pondering the country's mostly self-inflicted woes. The calculation time of 1-1/4 minutes will bring neither grief nor impatience. And the web sites can further reduce the wait for satisfaction. The finished image is posted at: <http://www.crosscanpuzzles.com/Archives.html> <http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/TESTS/FOTD/jim_muths_fotd.html> <http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/> <http://user.xmission.com/~legalize/fractals/fotd/about.html> A heavy overcast and temperature of 34F +1C made today's weather as depressing as the day's news here at Fractal Central. The fractal cats, perhaps picking up the humans' glum feelings, made themselves as scarce as possible. The next FOTD will be posted when I find the inspiration to search and find another fractal, color it and then post it. Until whenever that might be, take care, and . . . <snip> Jim Muth jimmuth@earthlink.net START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Tongues_of_Fire { ; time=0:01:15.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=SliceJulibrot4 passes=1 center-mag=-0.626918632/0/331/0.9136/-90/0 params=89.8/0/89.8/0/-0.188/0/0/0/1.5/0 float=y maxiter=1500 inside=0 logmap=163 periodicity=6 colors=000zuzysyxqwuouslrpionglkdiibfg_cdY`bVY_TVY\ QSWOPTLMRJLOGKMEJKCILBHKAGJ9FI8EH7DG6CF5BE4AD39C28\ B17A0690580470360250140030020010000000000000000000\ 08gB7hA6i95j84j85h96g96fA7dA8cA8bB9aBA_BAZCBYCBWCC\ VDDUDDTDEREFQEFPEGNFGMFHLFIJGIGGJEGKCHK9HL8HL7IM6I\ N5IN5JO5JP4JP4KQ3KQ2KR3LS4MS5NT6NT7OU8PV9QVAQWBRWC\ SXDSYDTYEUZFVZGV_HW_IX`JXaKYaLZbM_bN_cN`dOadPaeQbe\ RcfSdgTdgUehVfhWfiXgiYhjYikZik_jl`klakmblncmndnoen\ ofopgppgpqemrdjrcgsbdtaat_ZuZWuYTvXQwWNwUKxTHySEyR\ BzQ8zP6yQCxQIxQOwQUvQZvQduQjtQptQusPtrPsrPrqPqqPqp\ PppPooPnoPnnPmnPlmPkmPklPjlPikPhkPhjPgjPfiPeiPehPd\ hPcgPbgPbfPafP`eP_eP_dPZdPYcPXcPXbPWbPVaPUaPU`OV`O\ V`NV`NV`MV`MW`LW_LW_KW_KW_KX_JX_JX_IX_IXZHXZHYZGYZ\ GYZGYZFYZFZYEZYEZYDZYDZYCZYC_YC_YB_XB_XA_XA`X9`X9`\ X8`X8`X8`ZDa`HabLbdPbfUchYcjadledidefcecceabeZbfWa\ fTafR`fO_gL_gIZgGZgDYhAYh } frm:SliceJulibrot4 {; draws all slices of Julibrot pix=pixel, u=real(pix), v=imag(pix), a=pi*real(p1*0.0055555555555556), b=pi*imag(p1*0.0055555555555556), g=pi*real(p2*0.0055555555555556), d=pi*imag(p2*0.0055555555555556), ca=cos(a), cb=cos(b), sb=sin(b), cg=cos(g), sg=sin(g), cd=cos(d), sd=sin(d), p=u*cg*cd-v*(ca*sb*sg*cd+ca*cb*sd), q=u*cg*sd+v*(ca*cb*cd-ca*sb*sg*sd), r=u*sg+v*ca*sb*cg, s=v*sin(a), esc=imag(p5)+9 c=p+flip(q)+p3, z=r+flip(s)+p4: z=z^(real(p5))+c |z|< esc } END PARAMETER FILE=========================================
