Would anyone be able to recommend something in the way of a book on bitmap graphics for a guy who is a professional commercial artist making a very late transition to computer?
There are probably several that would be quite handy to have, either as a reference or as instructional. The one that I use more than any is published by O'Reilly:
"Encyclopedia of Graphics File Formats, Second Edition", by James D. Murray and William vanRyper
The question is, what is this "guy" wishing to do?? Program, understand more, interface with, or what?? Does he want to know more about 2-D graphics, 3-D graphics, or both?? And if he is going to be programming, what language and OS is he aiming for??
