If I can supply you with any needed email addresses of people on the Fractint list please let me know. I've updated your email address in my address book to: lgarr AATT colorado-hiking DDOOTT n e t (That should make it through the email address flter.) > I am having trouble posting and reading… I read here successfully: https://mailman.xmission.com/lurker/search/20151230.124737.00000000@ml:fractint.en.html I occasionally refresh the page, and if a right arrow in a circle appears at top right, I click it to have the new post get shown in the list. Oh yeah -- you have to select a date in the *future* at the bottom of the page and click "Jump!" the first time you load the page. A more standard format display list of posts is here: https://mailman.xmission.com/lurker/list/fractint.en.html > I am working on a "fractint operating system" boot CD... I'm interested in your Fractint boot CD. Am I correct in that it will - read formulas and parameter files from, and - store its created images to the FAT/FAT32 hard drive assumed to be in the booted computer? What do you recommend people with one big NTFS partition do? Can your Fractint CD OS read & write files to a USB FAT thumb drive? Is a USB thumb drive a reasonable thing to use as a "data drive" if all I have is a small amount of space left on an all-one-partition NTFS drive system? Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_flash_drive says: "USB flash drives use the USB mass storage device class standard, supported natively by modern operating systems such as Windows, Linux, OS X and other Unix-like systems, as well as many BIOS boot ROMs." and: "Most flash drives ship preformatted with the FAT32, or ExFat file systems." What OS will your CD use? Will there be any user access to the OS? Comcast hosed my email 2 months ago and they won't let me fix it. I lost all my contacts, one of which was the fractint list etc., so if NY1 been sending me email and get no response thats why. Now I have this new email and reregistered with the mailing list, although I am having trouble posting and reading; computers suck! [actually, computers ROCK! It's the dum-stoopid peeple sometimes]. I am working on a "fractint operating system" boot CD which should solve all the problems people are having with current non-DOS systems. It will be an "ISO" file and I will post it on my server. All you need to do is use it to burn a boot CD and boot with it on ANY system that has at least one FAT/FAT32 partition on the hardrive, and it will be just like the good old days. Gimme a little more time now - almost done. Full instructions will be included. I am currently doing final touches and "debugging" , should be uploaded soon - this week. IF I can successfully post to the list and let everyone know. JoTz . --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus
